This is Ink & Dagger’s Experiments In Nocturnal Sound And Energy. It was released on Revelation Records in 1998. I purchased it from Repo Records on South Street in Philadelphia for $2.99. It has an early version of Philapsychosis (later released on The Fine Art Of Original Sin LP) and a song called 13th Dream which I think was also released on a Schuylkill Records compilation 12″. There is no notation on the labels as to which side is side a or b. The etching on the disc itself suggests that 13th Dream and it’s remix are side a and that Philapsychosis is side b, even though Philapsychosis is listed first on the back cover. Maybe it’s a mistake on Revelation’s part. I don’t really know for sure. If my information (or assumption, rather) is incorrect, please do let me know.

Track List:

Side A:
01. 13th Dream
02. 13th Dream GFS Remix

Etching: “ROBBY REDCHEEKS R.I.P.”

Side B:
01. Philapsychosis

Etching: “T-ROPE KING OF AMH”

Pink Floyd – Dark Side Of The Moon 30th Anniversary Edition

Dark Side Of The Moon is one of my favorite records and arguably one of the best records ever recorded. I bought this one day last year at Hot Topic while on an outing to the mall. You may laugh but I was surprised to find that Hot Topic actually has a nice selection of reasonably priced vinyl… well… they did… I went back the other day hoping to score some more records and their vinyl selection has been scaled back significantly. Oh well, fuck that place, It’s for juggalos anyway.

So as I was about to say, this is the 30th anniversary edition pressed on “heavyweight virgin vinyl” according to the label and insert. That sounded kind of vague to me but further investigation on the internet told me that it’s 180 gram vinyl. I’m glad that EMI/Harvest released this, otherwise I’d have had to buy a 30 year old used, scratched up piece of wax and I just don’t want to bother trying to listen to that. This heavyweight repress is much more favorable to my ears. This edition included two stickers and three posters. You may be able to tell from the pictures that one of the stickers has been damaged. It became wedged in the spine and was bent when the cover was folded :(

Track List:

Side A:
01. Speak To Me
02. Breath In The Air
03. On The Run
04. Time
05. The Great Gig In The Sky

Side B:
01. Money
02. Us And Them
03. Any Colour You Like
04. Brain Damage
05. Eclipse

The Doobie Brothers – Best Of The Doobies

This is an example of a record that I have that I never would have bought. Nothing against The Doobie Brothers or anything, but I try to only collect records I really like, and this isn’t it. I got it from a lady in my building. She was throwing out a bunch of junk, including records. Typically, when people in my building get rid of stuff they think other people might want, they leave it by the back door so anyone can pick it up. She left a pile of old used records and I was lucky enough to get first dibs. I probably pulled about 10 records. Those will show up in this blog later at some point. But yeah, so this is my Doobie Brothers record. Cool. It was released on Warner Brothers in 1976. I guess this is an original.

Track List:

Side A:
01. Chine Grove
02. Long Train Runnin’
03. Takin’ It To The Streets
04. Listen To The Music
05. Black Water
06. Rockin’ Down The Highway

Side B:
01. Jesus Is Just Alright
02. It Keeps You Runnin’
03. South City Midnight Lady
04. Take Me In Your Arms
05. Without You
